4 Killer Ways To Build A Local MLM Team That Duplicates

I just watched a video by Ray Higdon where he shared 4 ways to build a local MLM team and would like to share what I learned with you in this blog post.
Why is it important to build local?
You can certainly build your business online using different online strategies. The thing is that some of these strategies are not easily duplicatable. However, if you learn how to build locally and offline, this creates better duplication and retention. It also can lead to creating larger events in your area. Building locally is more convenient because the travel is easier and lighter than having to go out of town to do a meeting. It certainly creates a buzz locally because you can take a picture of your local event or capture a short video of the event and use it in your online marketing to teach your online recruits.
Here are 4 killer ways to build a local MLM team that duplicates:
#1 Prospect At Local Events
These local events could be Chamber events, wealth events, financial planning events, etc. People who already attend such meetings are more likely to attend more. They are also prone to know people who are likely to attend meetings. They may also have some experience when it comes to putting together successful events.
What you want to do at these local events is…make sure you do not pitch your opportunity on the first meeting. Don’t even give out business cards because majority of people do not even care enough to follow up after the event. Make sure you get as many business cards from others as you can and follow up within a few days of the event. I wrote a blog post a while back on how to follow up with people after events. #2 Use Bandit Signs
The image to the right is an example of a bandit sign. What a bandit sign does is it basically qualifies people for you. You see, people who are on welfare or people that have a broke mindset won’t even bother to call you from a bandit sign because they typically do not believe it’s even possible to make that kind of money working from home. Now, there are people who are broke or on welfare who may call you from a message on your bandit sign. Just make sure that you qualify them and be willing to let go of them if they prove to be the wrong type of person you’re looking for in your business. The advantages of using bandit signs are as follows:
- They give you local leads
- It’s duplicatable
- It’s fairly inexpensive
When putting out these signs, watch out for code enforcement. Find out what the rules are in your area.
#3 Start Doing Local Meetings
Doing local business opportunity meetings builds a stronger community. People love to belong to something bigger than themselves. It also gives you the expertise you need to train other team members in other cities. It gives you the opportunity to work with local business owners. Some of them may have room that you can use to run your business opportunity meetings. When you do local meetings that are successful, this could attract upline leaders and company events to your local area and this usually builds momentum in your business.
#4 Reach Out To Respected Upline Leaders
When you’re getting started in the business, begin with the end in mind. Find out from your successful upline leaders(basically the ones who are not local to you) what it will take for them to come and do an event for your team in your city. This is powerful. Once they tell you what is required, start working towards it immediately. When an upline sees that your team is growing in your local area and it’s catching fire, they’ll fly in to help you take it to the next level.
