How To Shift & Overcome Limiting Beliefs
Beliefs are neither right nor wrong. All you have are beliefs that are either empowering or limiting.
Our beliefs are molded not by the events of our lives but by what we think those events mean. It’s all about the meaning we read into these events that shapes who we are today and who we’ll be in the future. Beliefs cause the distinction between a lifetime of joyous contribution and one of misery and devastation. Beliefs turn some individuals into heroes, while others simply “lead lives of quiet desperation”.
Beliefs have the power to create and the power to destroy. We all have the unique ability to take any experience of our lives and create a meaning that disempowers and limits us or one that can literally save our lives. We all
have the capacity to create meanings out of things that empower us, but so many of us never tap into it, or even recognize it. If we don’t adopt the faith that there is a reason for the unexplainable tragedies of life, then we begin to destroy our capacity to truly live.
To become a successful entrepreneur, you need to develop the absolute sense of certainty that powerful beliefs provide. If you do this, you can get yourself to accomplish virtually anything, including those things that other people are certain are impossible. You’ve got to understand how to interpret “failures”. How we deal with these failures and life’s defeats will shape our destinies. How we deal with adversity and challenges will shape our lives more than almost anything else. You will always find a way if you persist long enough.
Below is a video by Katie Freiling that shares 4 steps to shifting and overcoming limiting beliefs. Enjoy it. Make sure you read the rest of this post after watching the video
In his book, “Awaken the Giant Within“, Anthony Robbins shares something that sounds very simple but is profound. He says that in order to change or overcome a limiting belief, you have to get yourself to link massive pain to your old belief. You have to feel deep down in your gut that not only has the belief cost you pain in the past, but it’s costing you in the present and, ultimately, can only bring you more pain in the future. You must then associate tremendous pleasure to the idea of adopting a new, empowering belief.
Everything that we do is done out of our need to avoid pain or our desire to gain pleasure. If we associate enough pain to anything, we’ll do whatever it takes to change it. Pain is the ultimate tool for shifting a limiting belief.

Hi Etieno,
I have always loved Anthony Robin’s teaching on this. The challenge for most people is that they are not in touch with how they feel. When you are and you feel the pain associated with a self limiting belief then you are alerted to the fact that the belief is there to be worked with and then you can change whatever it is that is standing in your way.
I loved reading this post Etieno. Thank you for sharing.

You are right Etieno. Beliefs are essential to become successful in our industry. In order to be able to believe, you need to decide on your WHY, set up your GOALS accordingly and stick to it like glue with consistency until you crack the code! Many thanks for sharing. Best regards. Axel
