Ever wondered what the skills required to be a good a leader are in network marketing? In this blog post, I’m going to give you a list of skills so that when you master these you will have all the qualities of good leadership you need to take your business to any level you desire.
So without stalling here’s a list of the 8 skills required to be a good leader in network marketing:
1: Generating leads: You need to learn how to find people to talk to. Whether this is online or offline it does not matter but you have to be able to find people to talk to about your business. We all know this and this is a big stumbling block for some network marketers. When you run out of family and friends to talk to where do you turn next? Master this skill and you will be well on your way to having the qualities of good leadership that you can pass on to your down line.
2: Inviting: You must learn how to invite people to see your presentation. It may be at the coffe shop on your flip chart or online through a company website but you have to learn how to invite people to see what you got.
3: Presenting: Once you have found someone to talk to and invited them to your presentation now you want to present this in a professional manner. This is why it is great to use your companies professionally done presentations. They say the same thing the same way every time. There is no room for error. In addition to presenting like we just talked about you should be able to present in person to someone also. This will make you a leader and is one of the qualities of good leadership that your down line will look for when they are evaluating you.
When you get up and do a presentation in front of an audience your down line will love you for that. That will give you instant credibility as a leader in their eyes. You see most people are very afraid to get up and talk to a group people, so when you do it it instantly gives you the qualities of good leadership.
4: Answering Objections: There are a handful of basic objections you will run into and you should be able to answer those smoothly and with ease.
5: How To Follow Up: This really is where the rubber meets the road. You can do all the above correct and perfect but if you do not follow up then you are missing out on a lot of money. Learn to follow up. Put something in place to help you follow up with the people you talk to.
6: How To Close: Okay you found people to talk to, you invited them to a presentation and did a fantastic job presenting. Maybe they had a few questions and you answered them. Then you followed up with them. But when the time came to ” close” them they backed out. You see all these skills are like a puzzle. They are all pieces that need to be put together just right and then it will make a beautiful picture. So learn how to close. Here is a tip. Use a presumptive close. Just assume they are going to join you and posture yourself that way.
7: How to Build for Events: The biggest indicator of whether you will make money in this industry is how many ” butts” you can get into seats at events. The more people on your team that you can get to events the more belief they will have and it will solidify their belief that they can do the business.
8: How To Get People Started Properly: All of these seemed to build on one another but this one is probably the most important. You could do all the others well and master them but if you do not know how to get people started properly then you will be stuck in a revolving door. That means that you will not be able to recruit fast enough to stay ahead of the attrition.
Get all of these right and you will have the qualities of good leadership you require to build an empire of any size you want.
