If you wish to be the best you can be, it helps to know how you can change and how you can set out on your journey of transformation.
“Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.” — Jim Ryun
“Resolve that whatever you do, you will bring the whole man to it; that you will fling the whole weight of your being into it.” — Orison Swett Marden
There are many times you are faced with hardship, when you may think that you can’t do a good enough job. Well, with a good spirit and determination, you can turn that around.
If you think to yourself that you just can’t do something, look for inspiration. A simple way to look for inspiration is by finding people that have what you want at the moment. It seems to have an effect of envy that makes you want to try harder and be better. The person (or thing) that you choose depends on your want. For example, if you want to work out to the max and get those biceps you’ve always wanted, you’d want to watch American Gladiators or look up Kratos from God of War.
You are the only you out there and no matter what you do, bringing the best you to the table is the greatest gift to the world.
Bring your art, your creativity and your perspective to the table. Learn from those who have done what you want to do but don’t try to be them – they’re already taken. Figure out how you might fit in the industry and add your own flair.
Being the best that you are capable of is actually a copout. Sometimes you have to be better than everyone else’s best to succeed, to win, and to achieve victory.
It doesn’t matter if it is in sports, politics, business, or just being the best in providing for your family. If you really want to succeed at what you’re doing, you have to push yourself beyond what you think you’re capable of, or any limitations that you may have been told, come to believe about yourself, or assumed. Sometimes you have to look at whoever is the best, go after their best score, and better their best efforts. There’s nothing wrong with winning, there’s nothing wrong with being number one, and there’s nothing wrong with victory.
In getting ready to write this post, I came across a video that inspired me so much I decided to share it with you. It’s a short video of Stedman Graham teaching on how to be the best you can be. Watch it and glean from this man’s wisdom.
Tips to Becoming the Best You Can Be
- Write your specific goal.
- Break down the goal into manageable steps.
- Acknowledge the obstacles in the way.
- Do a little, do a lot, but work on your goal every day.
- List the benefits.
- Set realistic deadlines.
- Don’t beat yourself up if you fall off track. Start again.
- Acknowledge yourself with small rewards after each step to the goal is achieved.
To get good results in the most important areas of your life, you have to practice daily. Top athletes know that practice is how you get greatness.
To learn how to be the best you can be, just watch athletes. I believe you can learn a lot about endurance, perseverance, patience and hard work from athletes. You have to practice to get to your greatness. Sure practice takes discipline but the price of discipline is always less than the pain of regret.

Get uber specific in writing goals Etieno, I like it. More clarity means more focus means less distractions means quicker goal achievement. Study goal achievers. Almost all have a clear cut, laser like focus on their goals.
