How true this is! The pre-eminent health topic amongst people with executive responsibility, in both the private and public sectors of the economy, the world over, is stress!
Beyond the common-place understanding and application of the word, stress is defined as the condition or state of coming under strain or pressure. The stress you feel is your response to a strong stimulus called a stressor. Stressors are therefore the circumstances that cause your stress.
Stress has, arguably, become the single most important health issue threatening the existence of man, and Chronic stress is directly linked to the leading causes of death like strokes and heart attack. The world over, every six hours, an adult between the ages of 35 and 60 years is dropping dead from the effects of stress, making the Sudden Death Syndrome a major fall-out of stress.

The first step is to, by a conscious act of your will, resolutely decide not to give in to feelings of annoyance and anger when next they rear their heads. Your Life Matters!

Your Life Matters!

It doesn’t matter what you’ve gone through in the past. You have purpose. The fact that you’re still here suggests to me that your life is significant and has meaning. Remind yourself that you matter, you’re significant and equipped to fulfill your destiny. Go out and make it happen!

Be grateful for what you have right now. Remember that gratitude is the seed for more. If you want to attract the good things in life, you have to be grateful for what you already have.

Don’t complain about how bad your life is, instead focus on the good in your life. If you complain about how things are, you’ll just get more of the same. Focus on getting more good out of your day. It all starts with having an attitude of gratitude.

Your life matters! It is significant and has meaning. You were born, one out of millions of sperm cells, so you can show up to make a difference in this world. Don’t allow people to marginalize what you do. You are significant and there’s something you were born to give all of us, so don’t die without leaving your mark on this generation. Refuse to die and unlived life.your life matters

Learn to activate your faith on a daily basis. Believe that you can do the impossible. Did you know that you have enough energy in your body to produce energy that can light up the city you live in for a long time? This tells me that you have immense potential. It has to be harnessed though.

In order to harness your potential, I encourage you to stay away from emotions that are bad for you. One of them is jealousy. Don’t be jealous of what someone else has. What they have can’t stop you from achieving your goals. There’s more than enough abundance in the Universe for every one. You attract this abundance by the way you think and feel about things that happen around you. Realize that you don’t need to walk in someone else’s shoes. You can only walk in your shoes. No one can beat you at being you.

Strive to invest in yourself. There’s always room for improvement and growth. Don’t be stagnant. One way to grow is to read books. Also, have a personal development plan. Listen to audio/visual programs that are empowering. Be careful what you take in because that’s what’s going to come out of you. Stay away from people who belittle you and your dreams. Instead, get around people who celebrate you and not people who tolerate you. Attend events with people who are like-minded and who think big.

The Value of Taming Your Tongue

One of the main reasons people get stuck in life is because they haven’t learned how to control their mouth. From saying hurtful things to gossiping to putting others down, their tongue is keeping them from rising higher. But that doesn’t have to be you!

You can become all that you were created to be by learning to control your tongue today. As you do, you’ll enjoy your life more, have better relationships and step into new levels of purpose and blessings.

The video below is by one of my mentors, Joel Osteen. best-selling author of “The Power of I Am: Two Words That Will Change Your Life Today.” He discusses some valuable insights into the value you can get from taming your tongue. It’s important to note that you’re not required to verbalize everything that’s on your mind. It’s only a fool that tells everyone what they are thinking.

You are defined by the way you use and choose your words. The use of your words touches you as well as those around you. Without really thinking about it, you can change someone else’s thoughts, beliefs and actions by using the power of words and by taming your tongue.

You see, our mouth is driven by what preoccupies our heart. Choosing to bridle our tongue means dealing with our heart first—not merely avoiding blurting out unkind words. Remember that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Learn to hold your tongue even when things are not going your way.

NEVER criticize, condemn or complain about anything or person, whether it be directly or indirectly. When you complain, it takes your focus away from the good things that you could be grateful for instead. Never do or say anything that lowers a person’s self-esteem or makes him/her feel less important or valuable. Refuse to gossip or discuss other people in a negative way. Never say anything about a person that you would not say to his/her face.

The words you say may have a huge effect on other people, but they also affect you too. The words that come out of your mouth go into your ears as well as anyone else listening. Those words sink into your personality and play a part on your mood.

Proverbs 17:28 says, “Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is considered wise.”

Your words are powerful. They can break you or they can make you. They express your emotions and thoughts. Remember today that you have the freedom to choose the words you speak carefully. And learn to listen more than you speak. Listen with intent. Whenever you’re the presence of other people, pay attention to what they’re saying. People appreciate you more when they know that you’re a good listener. Listening will help you avoid making blunders with your tongue.

Jack Canfield – The Success Principles

In the video below, Jack Canfield, who is a best-selling co-author of the book “Chicken Soup for the Soul“, shares some important tips on how to achieve success. He talks about how we live as kids and what happens when we grow up. Kids have an amazing outlook on life. They believe that they can become anything they dream of. But as they grow up, life kicks them in the teeth and tells them what they can and can’t do.

As kids, when we had the impulse to act, we did. As we grew up, we got conditioned by our environment. This placed limits on how far we could go. I encourage you to:

Be like a kid again. When you have the impulse to act on something, JUST DO IT!

Be on the edge of your potential. Always work towards pushing the limits. Strive to step out of your comfort zone because all growth happens outside of your comfort zone. We can feel what we want and go after it. Remember: If you fully do that which you are passionate about, you have the ability within you to change the world and make it a much better place.

Jack compares achieving success to knowing the combination to a lock. The cool thing is that it doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from, you can find the combination. It resides in your mind. What you think will make you weak or strong. Don’t forget that you can change the outcome of any event, simply by changing your response to it.
