One of the major problems with any online business is learning how to drive targeted traffic to get people in the door. Well, in today’s post I want to share with you how to use Twitter as a marketing tool to do just that.
If you didn’t know already Twitter is the 8th most trafficked site on the internet so there are a lot of people on Twitter which leaves huge potential for driving masses of targeted traffic through the front door of your business.
The problem is that most people don’t know how to use Twitter as a marketing tool and end up just wasting a lot of time doing all of the mundane tasks involved with building a Twitter following.
The Strategy Behind Using Twitter As A Marketing Tool
Today I want to share with you a Twitter marketing strategy that is virtually set and forget which will allow you to spend more time on other business building tasks in your business.
First of all, let’s just cover the basic strategy for how to use Twitter to drive masses of targeted traffic, generate a ton of leads, and ultimately grow your business. Your ultimate goal on Twitter is to build a MASSIVE following of people who are interested in what you have to offer. So for example, if you were selling a blogging platform then you would want to build a massive following of people who are interested in blogging, that’s just one example but I’m sure you get the idea.
So how do you this?
The unspoken rule of Twitter is to “follow the people who follow you”, so if you want to build a massive following of targeted people then just seek out the people who are interested in what you have to offer and follow them.
Using Twitter As A Marketing Tool To Build Your Business
Now that you have a massive following of highly targeted prospects the question is “how do you use that list of followers to build your business?” Well with any online business the ultimate goal is to generate leads and “build a list”. In order to do this, you need to drive your Twitter followers towards your capture pages so they can opt in.
You need to understand that “people buy from people they know, like and trust” so a large part of your focus should be building that initial relationship with your followers as they follow you back. You do this by sending instant thank you messages to the people who follow you back with links inviting them to connect with you on Facebook, or to checkout your blog, or the videos you have created, etc, but you don’t want to do any promotion in your thank you messages.
The promotions and the driving of Twitter traffic is done within your tweets. Once you have built a massive Twitter following of people within your niche in order to use Twitter as a marketing tool, all you have to do is construct tweets that send people towards your offer.
