Earlier today, while I was taking my usual early morning walk/run on the treadmill, someone tuned the TV to the Today Show on the MSNBC channel. Guess who was on? You guessed it….Justin Bieber was on the show. I have to admit that I don’t watch the TV quite often but I was fascinated by what I was seeing. It got me thinking and I decided to write this post with the hope that it will help someone who is struggling in their network marketing business.
Recently, I read the book “The Business School For People Who Like Helping People” by Robert Kiyosaki & Sharon L. Lechter (the authors of “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”). There is a quote I saw in that book that’s so profound. It says:
“The richest people in the world build networks. Everyone else is trained to look for work.” |
That is so true. Think of how people like John D. Rockefeller became one of the wealthiest man in the world. He didn’t just drill for oil. He became one of the richest men in the world because he built a network of gas stations, ships & pipelines, delivery trucks, etc. He was so rich and powerful because of his network that the U.S. government at the time had to force him to break up his network, calling it a monopoly.
How did the Beatles become famous? They became famous worldwide due to the power of the radio, television and record store networks. Many sports stars like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Dirk Nowitzki (go Mavs
) etc., today earn millions of dollars due to the power of television and radio networks. The Internet, which is also a network, has made many people millionaires and even a few people billionaires…If you want to become rich, you need to reach out and network with those who are rich or who can help you become rich.
What does all of this have to do with Justin Bieber? You may be asking why I say Justin Bieber is in network marketing. First and foremost, let me say this. I don’t personally know of any network marketing company that he has endorsed or anything like that. However, I know that his business model is similar to a network marketing business model. He is one of the few people on the planet that has one of the largest social media following today. That is his network. I also know that he is hard-working and creates awesome music. I’m a huge fan of his because of the inspiration he gives to millions of people around the world. Isn’t that what network marketing is all about? It’s about inspiring yourself and others to reach heights you never imagined you had the ability to reach.
To be successful in entertainment and in network marketing, you’ve got to commit to hours upon hours of beating on your craft to become better. The interesting thing though is that there are a lot of people who make awesome music who are not as successful as Justin is. There is one thing I know he has mastered. He has mastered the art of MARKETING.
Many people see entertainers on TV and think that what they do comes easy. These guys and gals put so much into developing their minds and themselves. It’s not all about having talent. There are a lot of people that we know who are talented but we have never heard their names and never will. Yes talent is important but just like one of my mentors often says, hard work will trump talent any day of the week.
As I watched that program on the Today Show, I noticed how many of Justin Bieber’s fans were attracted to his persona. Why would MSNBC bring him on their network? They brought him on because of the value he would bring to their network. While the show was on, I went over to Twitter and noticed that the Today Show was trending like crazy with people commenting about the show and Justin Bieber in the same sentence. Why would Justin Bieber agree to go on the air with MSNBC? Because of the attention it would bring to his new Christmas album “Under The Mistletoe“.
How does all of this stuff relate to you and your network marketing business? Basically, the amount of money you earn from your business is going to be in direct proportion to the amount of value you put out in the market place. To earn more money, all you have to do is put out more value. The more you give, the more you’ll receive. This is a universal law that’s just as true as the Law of Gravity. It doesn’t matter whether you believe it or not. It just is.
Just like Justin Bieber, you have to understand how to market and promote yourself and your business. Remember that there is huge value in a network because: “A well designed and managed business network will exponentially earn far more than a hard-working individual can.” – Robert Kiyosaki.

Interesting post, Etieno! You are right, though, that “famous” people all have publicists and nowadays look to create a social media presence. AND, they need to consistently bring value or they’ll be overrun by their competition. No different, really, than what we’re doing as we build our network marketing business.

Well spotted Etieno! You are absolutely right. Justin Bieber did not become famous like this by chance. He had a GOAL, translated it into a PLAN and he is now implementing this plan through NETWORK MARKETING! Thank you Etieno. Best regards. Axel
