I came across the book “Three Feet From Gold” by Sharon L. Lechter and Greg S. Reid with the Napoleon Hill Foundation. I read a couple of pages of the book and was hooked. I thought I’d share with you my friends what I learned from reading the book.

I found a couple of great quotes from Napoleon Hill and will be sharing them in this post.

There are many things you cannot control, but you can control the only things that really matter: your mind and your attitude. External forces have very little to do with success. Those who program themselves for success find a way to succeed even in the most difficult circumstances. Solutions to most problems come from one source and once source alone: yourself.

Living a life to the fullest is a lot like shooting the rapids in a rubber rift. Once you’ve made the commitment, it’s difficult to change your mind, turn around, and paddle upstream to placid waters. But it’s the excitement and adventure that make it all worthwhile. If you never make the attempt, you may never know the depths of despair, but neither will you experience the exhilaration of success.

Before great success comes, you will surely meet with temporary defeat.

Majority of the people you’ll ever meet are quitters. The reason most people quit is because they fail to unearth their definite life purpose. They don’t have something worth fighting for.

We all have strengths and weaknesses. Work your strengths, hire your weakness.

Always seek counsel of wise people and not opinions of fools, and after you get the wisdom, pass it on to others.

Here are some Napoleon Hill quotes from “Three Feet From Gold” that I found particularly inspiring:

“Decide to live life to the fullest. You may be three feet from gold.”

“Every adversity, every failure and every heartache carries with it the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit.”

“More gold has been mined from the thoughts of men than has ever been taken from the earth.”

“Many successful people have found opportunities in failure and adversity that they could not recognize in more favorable circumstances.”

I strongly recommend you pick up a copy of the book and read it and you’ll find gold nuggets on how to live a fulfilling life.
