Start Thinking & Living Like The Rich & Famous

Now that I have your attention, I’d like to share with you a few concepts that have made a difference in my mindset. I want you to realize the fact that Plan A is not going to work for everyone. Holding on to your job and hoping that it’ll be there for you many years to come is definitely the wrong mindset. Take a look at what’s happening in our economy today. People are being fired, laid off, retired etc.

You’ve got to realize that now is the time to do something different. The other day, I was at Wal-Mart and noticed one of the greeters was a lady who was maybe 70 or 75 years old. She was sweeping at the time I was leaving the store. I paused to wonder if in her earlier years she had planned to be at that job in her golden years. I bet she didn’t say in her mind “I want to be working as a Wal-Mart greeter when I hit 70 years old, instead of playing and having fun with my grand kids.” 

 If you’re in a home based business or network marketing business right now, I want to share some numbers with you so you understand the power of what you have your hands on. It is going to save your life. In this business, there are 2 things. There’s pain and there’s pleasure. Which one do you want first? You’re going to get both. Are you going to deal with the pain now to experience the pleasure later or are you going to opt for the pleasure now to get the pain later? The choice is yours. I hope you realize that it’s worth it to experience a little bit of the pain now to have longevity of pleasure than the reverse.

Here are some numbers you may want to know about:

– The average household in the US makes income of about $50,000 a year (and that’s with 2 people in the household working 3 jobs).

– The average credit card debt in America is $10,000 per household.

Clearly, there is no time freedom here and there is debt in the above equation.

This is why it’s so important to have a plan B. Now, I know your friends and family will have all kinds of negative things to say about that. But you have to realize that you’re not living for them, you’re living for YOU.

Examine these two scenarios:

Screnario #1: Let’s say you start a network marketing business today and have to spend $250 monthly to keep the business active (auto-ship) but you net $100 per month from the business. This means you make a total of $100 profit from the business every month. Let’s also assume that this happens for a year and nothing changes. At the end of one year, you would have spent $3000 on auto-ship and made a profit of $1200. That’s a 40% return on your investment.

Scenario #2: Let’s say interest paid on a savings account is 5% per year(it’s much lower than that by the way).  How much would you need to have in the bank to generate residual income of $100 per month? If you do the math, you would realize that you need to invest $24000 in the bank to get $100 per month in simple interest. Not only is the interest 5% but you would have to come up with the whole $24,000 upfront.

These are the numbers and I don’t care if you think $100 is a lot of money or not.

Now if we compare scenario #1 with scenario #2, you would see that in scenario #1, you don’t have to come up with $3000 all at once. You only have to do the $250 per month. However, in scenario #2, in order for you to get a solid $100 per month, you have to stick $24,000 cash in the bank and earn 5% simple interest.

So which one is easier? Is it easier to learn how to retail and recruit and earn an extra $100 a month by only investing $250 a month or is it easier to go and get $24,000 cash and not spend a dime but go stick it in the bank and only earn 5% on it? Well, it’s obvious that it’s easier to learn the skills.

I just shared with you above that the average income of an American household is $50,000 so no average person is going to take almost half of their income and go stick it in the bank so they can earn $100 a month. It doesn’t make any sense to do that.

I encourage you to do the math for year 2, year 3, etc. It’s insane!

If you could show someone how to make a $50 profit for every $100 he/she spends, don’t you think it would be worth your time? Absolutely! Understand that your future is going to depend on the actions that you take today. You have got to go out there and show people the power of this business. Stop acting like secret agents and stop being scared to share your opportunity with people because ignorant people don’t understand money. You just might save someone’s life.

Be proud of the industry that you’re in. Don’t be sidetracked by people who don’t understand anything about residual income or duplication or compound interest.

Work your business and make your $100 and help someone else make $100 and help another person make $100 and you compound that year after year after year. If you do that in 3 years, you’re doing better than the person that’s sitting next to you at your job.

I want to encourage to keep learning the skills you need to be successful. I don’t care if it is difficult…just figure it out. Challenge yourself, gain the skills, absorb whatever information you can get your hands on and build the value in yourself. The good news is that there are people out there that are willing to teach you these skills.

It’s time for you to live the dream. You can absolutely do it.
