Six Techniques For Installing Good Habits

Here they are:

  1. Set yourself up to succeed: Any new habit has to work inside your life and lifestyle. If your goal is to start using a gym this year, don’t go join a gym that is 30 miles away from your house because the chances are you won’t go. Also, if you’re someone who prefers to work out at nights but the gym closes at 6 PM, then it won’t work for you. Your gym must be close and convenient, and their hours must fit within your schedule. If you want to lose weight and have healthy eating habits, make sure your fridge and pantry are stocked with healthy options and not junk food.
  2. Think Addition, Not Subtraction: When you’re trying to go from bad habits to creating new good habits, think of what you can add into your life so you can enrich your life experiences.
  3. Go for PDA(Public Display of Accountability): Get people to watch you, after you’ve made a commitment to start doing the right things. Tell your family. Tell your friends. Tell people on Facebook & Twitter. Get the word out there that there’s a new sheriff in town, and you’re in charge and committed to creating new and empowering choices in your life that will ultimately affect the lives of the people around you in a positive way.
  4. Find a SUCCESS Buddy: There are not so many things that are as powerful as two or more people who lock arms in marching toward the same goal. To increase your chances of succeeding in life, get a succes buddy, someone who will hold you accountable as you work towards cementing your new habit while you also return the favor to them. For example, if you’re trying to get healthy and cut down some fat, seek out a success buddy for regular walks, runs, or dates at the gym. Also if you’re looking for some more success in your business, career, etc., find a success buddy you can meet with the discuss and trade personal development books and resources.
  5. Competition & camaraderie: There is a powerful quote by Dr. Mehmet Oz. It says “If people would just walk a thousand more steps a day, they would change their lives.” Basically, all it takes is a little competition to keep people’s engines revved – and they get a wonderful sense of community and shared experience and camaraderie in the bargain.
  6. Celebrate: All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, and it’s a recipe for creating a downward spiral in your life. There should be a time of celebration, to enjoy some of the fruits of your victories along the way. You can’t go through this thing sacrificing yourself with no benefit. You’ve got to find little rewards to give yourself every month, every week, every day – even something small to acknowledge that you’ve held yourself to a new behavior. Promise yourself a nice pot of god when you reach the end of the rainbow or tunnel(depending on your beliefs).

The above list is from the book, The Compound Effect, by my mentor, Darren Hardy. I strongly encourage you to buy the book wherever books are sold and read it from the 1st page to the last page. There are lot of gold nuggets in this book. Now, I have to warn you, if you’re not ready to take your life to the next level this year, don’t even bother buying the book because it won’t do anything for you.

You have to be ready to take action immediately. The cool thing is that starting today, you have the opportunity to sculpt your life for the rest of your life. The important question is, are you ready? If you are, I will provide you with the right resources that will empower you and build your mental muscles to take you from where you are today to making over a million dollars by December 31st, 2014. I know, that’s a bold claim, but just watch out. By January 1st, 2015, a few of my students will have made over a million dollars. Open up and let me coach you to success. Many of my friends are the most powerful in the world right now.

Don’t look outside of yourself. Everything you need to succeed is in your DNA, you just need help finding these things. You can’t do it on your own. You need someone “bigger” than you to help you find your talents and inert abilities.

Pick up a copy of “The Compound Effect” through this link and I will include you in my coaching program, which is FREE for the first 7 people that buy through this link.

Here’s what you do: After you purchase this book through the above link, email me your receipt to and I will personally get back with you. Include a way for me to reach you by phone. I look forward to empowering you in 2014 beyond your wildest imagination.
